Inspired by the rhythmic essence of light—expressed through its brightness, warmth, shadows, and shapes—we strive to craft a poetic story with light, blending emotion and illumination, shaping spaces that inspire comfort, connection, and purpose.

Founding story

From tech to lighting

KĀDNS began in 2022 as a passion project of two industrial designers, Echo Zhan and Viola Yingqiu Huang.

Working full-time in the tech industry, where productivity and speed are always praised and chased, the two designers found themselves yearning for something more aligned with their personal values. They discovered lighting to be the perfect medium - one that could be both a thoughtfully designed object and a form of artistic expression. Through lights, they set out to help people craft meaningful spaces and lifestyles.
